So here goes:
How fast do Essential oils work?
In general, once you smell or apply an essential oil they work quickly!
+ Within in 22 seconds they can travel to your brain + After 2 minutes they can be found in the bloodstream + After 20 minutes than can be found in every cell in the body
Where does this information come from, and how do we know this?
Well, these stats are based on scientific, peer-reviewed studies examining the bio-availability of essential oils.
All this means is studies on how much of the compounds in essential oils are available to be utilized by our bodies and how much of the “dose” of the essential oil reaches our bloodstream.
Essential oils, unlike synthetic drugs, are naturally occurring substances, which means that each time their composition is a little different, making it difficult to do repeated clinical studies on them. HOWEVER, there is a large body of scientific studies on essential oils that have examined individual oils, blends, and differences when we inhale them vs. apply them.
