Getting our Christmas tree

One family tradition that I treasure dearly is the night you buy a Christmas tree. Since I can remember my parents took us along to go a buy a Christmas tree. Usually we first went for dinner or a movie and then off to the Christmas shop to search for the perfect tree.

I have so many font memories of this "Family event" that I wanted to share this with my kids too. So, I dressed them up, we went for dinner and off to our quest in finding the perfect Christmas tree.

A Christmas tree will be the center of attention in your living room, so it is very important to have a nice, full tree. It's my personal mission, to look among all the trees, and find one that fits our home perfectly.

BINGO, we found one and Bryan and I both agreed, that this tree was indeed the tree for us. Ashton and Alina also agreed, so mission accomplished. Hooray!

When we got home, we always cut a piece of the trunk (which I but in my guest bathroom) and put the tree in a bucket of ice and water. We let it stay overnight and the following morning is one of the most exciting mornings of the Holidays. Decoration time!

It's also the time where Bryan runs out of the house as fast a possible, cause I think he knows my OCD kicks in immediately.

Ashton was my little Elf and he was such a good helper. During Alina's nap time we finished decorating the tree.

I saved a few Christmas ornaments for my little helpers. They loved it! The good news, nothing broke (yet).

The best thing is to see the twinkle in their eyes and their happiness as they look at our beautiful Christmas tree all lit up and decorated. Their proud faces that they helped mommy and showing the tree to anybody walking in our front door. I love to see how my kids are experiencing Christmas. I am beyond grateful to be able to share the traditions of my parents with my kids.

Seriously, how lucky are we?

I hope that during this time, we can all grow a little closer towards each other and share the magical moments of the Holidays.

I wish you all happy Holidays!
